The Board administers the registration of tax agents in Australia. To check if a tax agent is registered you can search the list of tax agents. For further assistance, contact the Board secretariat in your state.

Registration and renewal forms

The Tax Agent registration and renewal forms on this website will not be valid after 28 February 2010.

The new forms, compliant with the Tax Agent Services Act 2009 and requirements of the Tax Practitioners Board, will be available from this date on the Tax Practitioners Board website.

Application for re-registration as a tax agent

If you are applying for re-registration, you should ensure that you have met all the re-registration criteria and supply documentary evidence if applicable.

Please forward the completed application form, including all documentation required as per the checklist on the form and the appropriate fee to:

It will assist us in the processing of your application if this information is received before 28 February 2010.

Tax agent services regime and the Tax Practitioners Board

From 1 March 2010, the new national Tax Agent Services regime will commence.

The Tax Practitioners Board will be responsible for administering the system which will regulate tax agents and, for the first time, those providing BAS services for a fee.
