List of Tax Agents

A person, partnership or company is not entitled to charge a fee for preparing an income tax return or transacting business on behalf of a taxpayer in taxation matters unless they are registered as a tax agent or BAS Agent with the Tax Practitioners Board.

This is a register of tax agents and BAS agents who were registered with the Board as at 11 June 2010. The register provides the following details for each tax agent:

• The registered name of the tax agent.
• The practice name of the tax agent.
• Each address at which the tax agent practises as a registered tax agent.
• The state in which the tax agent is registered.

Some Tax Agents may have more than one address.

Further information about an agent is also available by selecting their registered name from the list of search results displayed. This information includes:

• Names of all associated registered agents.
• The details and start and end dates of any current sanction including suspension of an agent’s practice.
• Details of agents cancelled within the last 12 months.
• Details of professional associations affiliations.

BAS Agents are identified by the word “BAS” in the conditions of registration field on this screen.
